911 Notice for Internet Phone Service
Last updated: October 2026
Phone systems managed by NACIT support 911 calling. Each phone sends a registered address — including floor or suite — so responders can find the caller. Please read the limits below and share them with everyone who uses your phones.
911 may not work when
- there is a power outage at your location (unless phones and network equipment are on battery backup);
- your internet connection is down or very slow;
- your phone service account is suspended, for example for non-payment;
- a phone is moved to a new address and the registered location has not been updated.
Your responsibilities
- Tell NACIT before you move phones or open a new location, so we can update the registered address.
- Remote and mobile-app users must keep their location up to date.
- Keep this notice near your phones and tell staff about these limits.
911 can be dialed directly from every phone, without a prefix. When 911 is called, a notification is sent to the contact you designate.
